These are perfect for those parties where you only have a little bit of space left on the table and you're worried you don't have room for the deviled eggs. They're also perfect for when you're raising your own chickens and don't want to reuse Styrofoam or cardboard crates (of course, it's perfectly fine too if you buy eggs at the store and take them out of the crates to show them off in a beautiful ceramic piece). I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make incorporate now-vintage molds that she bought then.
